With operations in 45 countries, we embrace our responsibility and aim at being a small part of the big picture. Here are some of the initiatives keeping us engaged and connected to local communities around the world.

Concerning Societal Innovation

We believe connecting people is definitely the way to go to make an impact in local neighbourhoods. We’re working on setting up 10 social innovation hubs in France by 2025, where people can work, learn and socialise while their children are being cared after. With “La Passerelle”, a new economic model with reinforced impacts we’ve pioneered this project near Paris, and are successfully creating jobs, helping people work towards their goals and creating links between local organisations, farmers, consumers and inhabitants.

Concerning Female Empowerment

We want women to be able to shine in their communities and enjoy their full potential. We’ve partnered with many organisations so that we can support women around the world, whether by enforcing their fundamental rights or empowering them to get the career they deserve.

With SheWorks, we pair vulnerable females, such as refugees or survivors of violence, with a Sodexo employee to be shadowed for a day on one of our sites.

And because women are disproportionately impacted by hunger, Stop Hunger, our unique philanthropic cause, launched the “Women Stop Hunger Award” in 2017. Every year, up to five recipients are granted 10,000 € to enhance their initiatives.

Supporting SMEs

Small and medium-sized enterprises play a key role in fostering local employment, training and investment. We’ve created a close-knit network of SMEs and support them so we can help local communities grow.

We also strive to work with SME suppliers that prove agile in capturing innovation and reacting swiftly to market trends. We also run mentoring programs to accelerate their development, such as Impact+ in France.
