Sodexo included in 2020 Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index, recognizing commitment to advancing women in the workplace
Sodexo, world leader in Quality of Life Services, today announced that it is one of 325 companies across 50 industries included in the 2020 Bloomberg Gender-Equality Index (GEI). Companies range from a variety of industries, including automotive, banking, consumer services, engineering and construction, and retail.
The GEI tracks the financial performance of public companies committed to supporting gender equality through policy development, representation, and transparency. The reference index measures gender equality across five pillars: female leadership and talent pipeline, equal pay and gender pay parity, inclusive culture, sexual harassment policies, and pro-women brand. This year, Bloomberg expanded the eligibility for inclusion in the index to nearly 6,000 companies across 84 countries and regions.
For Sodexo, gender equality is a strategic imperative. With women making up 37% of Sodexo’s Executive Committee and 60% of its Board of Directors, a powerful internal gender balance study and strong gender networks throughout the global organization, the group’s commitment to gender equality is at the heart of its strategy and performance. Sodexo’s goal is that by 2025 women will represent at least 40 percent of its senior leadership staff.
To reach this goal, Sodexo has established a global strategy for gender equality, in order to ensure opportunities for the advancement of women. This strategy forms the basis for a number of initiatives, including inclusive workplace training, mentoring, and gender networks throughout the Group. The cornerstone of this strategy is the SoTogether advisory board, which is dedicated to promoting women's professional advancement, and more broadly, gender equality on the global scale.
